Want to buy - old EPROM programmer

I'm looking for something old enough to support 2708s. Something like a
Data IO 29A or 29B I know would work, but if you have something else
cluttering up the shop that you'd be interested in trading for cash, let me
know. If it will do 2708, 2716, 2732 and 2764 chips, I'm interested. Would
prefer working, but not-working could be ok too.

If you can get by without the 2708 requirement, I can help you.

Sorry, no. That's the hard part. It has to support 2708s, weird voltages
and all.

I thought I had one for you an almost brand new Data I/O 201 but it
does not do 2708's. It will do a TI 2508. Oh well I tried.

Out of curiosity, how much are you looking to get for it?

Oh gee, I only paid $ 75.00 for it. Data I/O is a local company and it
seem they closed those Model 201's out a few years ago at a local
surplus electronics house. Its been in a cardboard letter storage type
box along with the manual most of the time I have had it. I have no
software for it but the RS-232 and what is described in the manual
looks like it uses a terminal program to communicate with it.

I figured something like $ 50.00 plus shipping. Not sure what it is
worth.

You can replace a 2708 with a 2716 by bending up two pins and jumpering
them to the +5volt pin. Then you would not need to program the 2708.

I could, but I first need to read the images *out* of the 2708s that are on
there. I'm actually more worried about that than burning new ones, though I
want to be able to do that too.

Even if a programmer won't burn a 2708 due to an oddball burn voltage,
can it still read it?

What I did when I needed to do this on a one time basis to is use external
+12v and -5v suppiles connected to the approprite pins which were bent up
and not inserted in the reader. Once I got the data it was a simple matter
to program this into a 2716's. My data manual is at my office so I can't
recall the pin numbers at this time.

I sent you email (I think):

How about 1702's, 27-04/08/16/32/64/128/256/512,687xx,
PAL's and PLC's? I have a Kontron EPP-80 with UPM-B,
Fast-27K, and IFL modules. May be more than you wanted.

Slightly overkill for what I need, but that's ok. I'm interested. How much?
