VisionPlus TER - USB Remote Control

Anyone tried any way to make this remote a bit more universal?

Its a USB connecting remote, and since I use 2 different tuner software, i'd
like to be able to use it a bit more universally ..

The software "WinManager 1.1" appears to simply translate the remotes button
presses into keystrokes, as in non-visionplus software, it types letters for
butttons, and numbers for the number pad.. But these keys don't match up to
the other software I'd like to use it with .. Does anyone know a way to
either modify the WinManager software, or suggest an alternative application
to provide that service?

Thanks in advance!

The USB remotethat comes with visionplus cards is a standard HID Human
Interface Device, therefore is easily understood by windows (eg no serial
issues etc). Basically the buttons on the remote just map to keystrokes.
The two apps below are great for customizing what can be done with it:

uICE is a great program which is compatible with the usb remote that comes
with the visionplus, but it isnt free. Go here to try it out:

Another app called HIP (Human Interface Parser) which was originally written
for the visionplus cards is also available. It has now been masssively
extended, but the info below is straight from the website:

What is HIP?

HIP is a Windows-based simple and highly configurable system that can allow
you complete control of up to 9 different applications with a minimum of
keys (all of which may be customised). Originally written to replace the
software that was supplied to control the remote control of the Vision Plus
DTV card, the system has grown to allow users a variety of interfaces which
provides system control when a keyboard or mouse is not available
particularly for Home Theatre PC (HTPC) users.

Best of all, it is free, Go here to try it out.:

I've got 2 tuner cards in the PC .. a Pinnacle PCTV 5 (is it just me or are
VisionPlus stuff actually made by Pinnacle?) .. but the Pinnacle remote is
horrid, and serial .. given i've got a decent USb remote with the DTV card,
I figured i might as well use it, and now I can :) bonus :)

gets me a serial port back .. and i get a better remote (response light on
the reciever is a nice touch too ..)

Ended up using the HIP software, works great!

Thanks again for the help!
