Virtuoso: Over-riding Techfile's VIA Justification?

Hi all,

For some reason the via-justification in our techfile is set
yBias="bottom", xBias="left." This simply won't do for most Virtuoso
commands which work best with the origin located at "center/center." What
is the best way to change the default?

I've looked for environment variables, and I've tried to hack the
contact-bindkey by adding le0ContactForm->[xy]Bias->value="center" behind
leHiCreateContact. This works, but only on the second invocation of the
command, and only if the "autovia" button is NOT active. It's a pretty
poor solution.

Should I copy the contact-definitions from the Techfile and change the
xBias/yBias fields? Can I get away with taking all the other default info
out and only redefine the xBias/yBias fields, or would my definition
over-ride the project Techfile?

Make a local copy/dump of the techfile and make the change.
Load the new techfile and/or the sections, you need select merge(default).
I assume you don't have write priviliges to the source data which you
probably shouldn't..
This will keep your "override" during the icfb session i.e. it's loaded into
the virtual memory for the session.

You will need to load the local techfile next time you reinvoke icfb since
it;s only loaded to the virtual memory.
This way you can control these settings for your session.
