Video VCR no sound. Is it dead? What might be wrong?

How is it connected to the TV? May just be a bad connection or incorrect
mode setting.

What is the brand and model?

Come on now...... is that all you can say about your VCR problem?
Surely you must realize that diagnosing and troubleshooting is not this
easy....... and most techs do not have a crystal ball to tell you what the
problem is.
With the total lack of any pertinent details such as the very important make
and model number, things you tried to solve the problem, a description of
how it is hooked up, what other equipment is involved, is the sound missing
from tape playback or tuner... or both, etc, etc, etc..........
........what kind of answer are you expecting other than "it is broken and
needs to go to a repair shop and be fixed by a competent technician." ? ?

Could you tell us the brand/model number of your VCR, please? Are the
connections hooked up right?

Most technicians don't have a crystal ball or telepathy.
