What are you trying to do? If you don't know the answer to this question
you are likely getting in over your head and need to either get an
experienced Sony tech to help you or go through the Sony training manual and
service manuals before attempting any alignment.

Totally agreed, there are way too many parametes that your can simply foul
up by experimenting with this set. If you really want to do it then order
the service manual from SONY, When done call a SONY service tech and tell
them exactly what you did and bite the service charge bullett for them to
correct the problems. BTW if there is a problem with the set it should be
diagnosed before attempting any parametre changes via the service menue.

I am trying to determine if I have a gun focus problem before spending money
for a service call or service manuals... I am an electronic technician who
has been involved in troubleshooting/repair for 21 years.... I know enough
not to blindly tweak things.

We're replacing all the picture tubes in these at a rate of about 4 sets a
week.
Sony has a big problem with the jugs on these - they're extending warranty
coverage at least another year.

yeah...had mine done about a year ago...funny how Sony claims it only
affects about 1% .....yeah right... I guess they must have sold tons upon
tons of these sets.

SONY has actually a modification for these sets that exhibit pulsating in
the picture and changes in tracking (I.E. colour changes). The mods include
changing the CPTs. AFAIK the mods is not for poor focus problems.
