I was wondering how effective it was to use the "Bar Sweep" function
of a video analyzer instead of the old way of using sweep/marker
generators to align a tv IF.
What got me thinking about this was something I ran into at the flea
market yesterday. A guy had two Sencore VA-48's and one VA-62A. He
want me to make a package offer for all three items. He wouldn't name
a price, and wouldn't give any clue as to what he wanted (other than
the fact that they sold for thousands when they were new). I got
distracted by some laptops he was selling, but he wanted top dollar,
and I ended up not getting any of the items. I don't know how useful
the video analyzers would be with the limited amount of tv work I do
these days, and I expect he was looking for something in the hundreds
of dollars neighborhood.
