Hallo,
anybody knows if a free downloadable vhdl editor exists (possibly Tcl/Tk
GUI).
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried emacs? Also, the Xilinx webpack is free.

You can also try Altera Max+PlusII or Quartus.

If by that you mean an editor that recognizes VHDL syntax so that, for
example, "std_logic" is highlighted but "ste_logic" isn't, then one
candidate would be gvim http://www.vim.org/

I used to use the Crimson Editor, www.crimsoneditor.com

You can use EditPlus if you just want to use the editor.

You can import the syntax and autocompletion files from here

http://www.editplus.com/others.html

EditPlus is really good.

you have to just type entiy and press space bar it will type whole
entiy structure.

EditPlus also supports any other programming language.
