Yes, it looks interesting. Getting panels printed is not cheap and not
very flexible.

Yes, it looks interesting. Getting panels printed is not cheap and not
very flexible.
I don't find laser etching very useful for panels. The contrast of the
lettering is just not good enough. Detail is excellent, comparable to
600dpi or something like that. You can also make lightly etched areas,
looks almost like the plain sanded stainless steel, just a slightly
different shading effect.

This week I got a sample, a stainless steel business card from folks
that do precision laser etching. Also got a piece of stainless steel
pipe, with nice curved slots cut out, *very* smooth edges, incredible
in fact.

Can you etch deeply anough to smear in a pigment, and then clean the
remaining panel surface, thereafter all protected by an overcoat?
