VCR problem

Hi,

My Daewoo ST220P VCR has been causing me some problems.

When I insert a video it usually trys to autoplay it then it just
ejects it and the screen displays an error message. I took the top
off and tried inserting a video. On the attempts where it didn't work
the upper cylinder didn't rotate. When it did work they did rotate.
I have checked for dirt but no problems (its only a year old but out
of warrenty). I tried simulating putting a video in and found that in
some cases the idler wasn't engaging. When I tried push the idler
manually it worked. Why is this happening?

Any ideas? Thanks

Given the description of the symptoms in your posting..... this is NOT going
to be something that a newbie can fix. At the very least you should TAKE
it to a repair shop and obtain a repair cost estimate so you can make an
intelligent repair decision with facts instead of internet or telephone
guesses.
Is this the same VCR your asked about in yesterday afternoon's posting
titled "VCR Repair" ??? If so, you really do not have to post multiple
times to get an answer....... if you are not getting answers it is usually
because there is too little technical information and troubleshooting
results to provide relevant and useful repair suggestions.
