User manual for gtk wave

Hi,

I downloaded gtkwave and got it basically running.

I was just curious whether there is an official or unofficial
user manual for gtkwave?

The distribution itself seems only to contain man pages.

The reasons I'm asking are:
I'd just like to read through to understand what features exist and to
adapt my way of working to it.

I would be mostly interested in things like:

Is it possible to select multiple signals for display.
What is the way to define aliases for certain signal values
is it possible to group signals.

His it possible to rename bundled signals

Is it possible to display expressions. (for example the logical and of
two signals)?

thanks for any pointers N

If you download the source you'll find the manual in the "doc" directory
in Open Document Text format (so you can open it with OpenOffice).

If your Linux distribution provides GTKWave for you (Fedora 9 has it),
then you'll find it in /usr/share/doc/gtkwave-version-major-minor.

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks a lot.

I was looking in /usr/share/doc for .txt and for.pdf files, but did
somehow overlook the gtkwave.odt.gz file. (No idea why it's worth to
gzip an odt file, which is basically a .zip file it save exactly 4 kB of
space and makes it impossible to click on the file for opening it directly)

I'll start reading now :)

bye
