Use Spice model in Cadence

Guest
Hello,

I am trying to model an IC's output that I have designed that will be
hooked up to a National Semiconductor's LMC6484 part. I am able to get
a Spice macro-model from them (http://www.national.com/models/spice/LM/
LMC6484A.MOD), but am unsure how to use it in Cadence.

Although I would prefer to use Spectre, my toolkit does support
Hspice. I have attempted to create a view and symbol for this part,
with a view of hspiceD being used. I know I am doing this incorrectly
since the symbol seems to have no knowledge of the hspiceD. Also I do
not believe the hspiceD file should be named "/LMC6484A/hspiceD/
text.txt". I can only assume that text.txt is generated because I used
the text editor to make a new view.

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Dave

That is not spice model, that is a spice subckt
1. build a schmatic match the subckt
2.translate the bjt, diode or mos models to spectre format
