Update On Soundesign Component CD Player Problem...

I just wanted to let everyone know who may have read my original post about the
Soundesign Component CD Player and the problem it has, that I tested it out and
the only problem it has is that when the unit is cold, the drawer will open and
close, but when it gets warmed up, the drawer won't open or close, and none of
the front buttons will work after pressing the Open/Close button. I want to
believe it's the belt, but I'm not entirely sure. Look guys, I know now about
Soundesign's reputation, but truthfully, I'd like to get this going even if
it's just for the experience. Please let me know if I'm on the right track. :)

Thanks again. :)

take the lid off of it and check the tray motor to see if it attempts
to respond to open/close buttons. Also check tray position sensors for
correct voltages.

Tommy, I was working on an AIWA 3 CD's player which had the problem as
yours..."Tray didn't open at all times"...After opening the unit and doing some
visual investigations on the operation of the unitd, I came to a conclusion
that the the belt was the culprit since it tried to move all the gears but
didn't have enought power to do it. I replaced the belt and now its working
like a charm....maybe you can try the belt and see if that solves your problem.
Cheers
Alphie
