Abdul Taib Mahmud, in his capacity as the Chief Minister of Sarawak,
the largest state in Malaysia, Mr. Mahmud has had an ending string of
corrupt practices. For more information, please refer to

The university of Adelaide, ( www.adelaide.edu.au ) a supposingly
esteemed university in Australia, recently named one of its oldest
building in honour of Abdul Taib Mahmud.
IN Sarawak every Sarawakian telling the truth will tell you that Taib
Mahmud is a man who has cheated the state in Malaysia of billions of
ringgit (the currency of Malaysia), mismanaged the state for 25+ years
and in spite the state having the most resources, land and shorefront
for fishing is among the poorest 3 states in Malaysia.
Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, has the worst road in Malaysia
because Taib contracted the maintaining to his own company who got
paid but got little done.
All major contracts under state funding and federal funding are
allowed only to be carried out by his companies. All prime state lands
are ceded to his companies for pennies. All states companies and GLCs
(Government Linked Companies of Malaysia) in profit are taken over by
Taib's Mahmud companies, like SESCO, Cement factories and Pulp and
paper factory.
Where land is concern, Taib own shares indirectly in all the oil palm
plantations.
While monopoly in business is being abolished all over the world to
allow free competition, Taib reined in free enterprise by licensing
and creating umbrella monopolies to control others. eg sacorfa is
created to control free enterprising cell phone companies.
As for corruption, Taib is famous for getting all sort of kickback,
the Japanese government had published paper alleging Taib related
companies are siphoning monies from log buyers with kickbacks paid
into his Hong Kong base companies.
To get more details, you are again advised to read the Wikipedia on
Taib Mahmud ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdul_Taib_Mahmud )
When an esteem university, such as University of Adelaide, gave
accolade to a thief because of
money, the university has lost all its status of professionalism.
This type of "university" is not better than a cheap sheepskin mill,
willing to dispense out bogus degrees for money.
The university should send a team to Kuching to find out the real
truth from the local folks, rural or urban.
They should check for themselves if what is written in this message,
and on Wikipedia, is true or not, OR .... forever live like the pariah
of their so-called "GREAT MORALITY" !
