Why do so many of your posts start with Re: ?
Mass shootings are a parts-per-billion risk per year in the USA.
Street drugs are far, far more deadly.
I wonder if there have been studies of factors that the shooters have
in common. Drugs? Owning cats? Video games? Prior incarceration?
Genetics?
The UN chief should be more concerned about the hundreds of millions
of kids that die from disease and malnutrition in poor countries.

The answer is there is no answer. People become powder kegs, and when the right spark comes along they go off.

It\'s reasonable to ask if drugs or video games or cats are the sparks.

By my understanding most drug related deaths result from turf wars between the sellers.
If you want to get into pharmaceuticals, especially antidepressants, there\'s no question some drugs make people kind of loony. But pharmaceuticals, video games, violent action films, and things like that are big business, so the political answer to your question is a resounding no.

No. In San Franciso about 700 drug users die per year. There are few
deaths from dealer conflicts.

I asked about causal studies, not what to do. Sure, drugs and
homelessness and politics are giant industries.
