Tyre pressure reading (gadget at Dick Smith Electronics)

Guest
I wonder if someone can tell me what is the sensor used in the tyre pressure
reading gadgets on sale at Dick Smith Electronics. They sell two different
versions one as small key-chain like gadget and the other is a little bit
larger as a hand held device both with LCD display.

I want to measure vacuum in an duckted vacuum system and try to understand
if the tyre pressure sensor can be used for vacuum measurement.

Any suggestion?

My guess is that its probably a strain gauge against a small piston of some
sort.

MPX4250 MAP sensor.

Or any generic MAP sensor from a non-turbo fuel injection car.
