Story is full of holes. They weren\'t on any crazy mission. Whatever they were planning, they misplanned. The Russian mechanized unit boxed them in and prevented their escape. Russians don\'t treat people well who killed some of their own.

Hanging around any crime scene with a gun during a police response is not the most brilliant move. Even plainclothes get nervous doing that. There are a lot of high volumetric flow rate blood vessels in the pelvis making it a bad place to get shot, you will bleed out real fast.
