Hello.

I have an LG TV (20CP52A) with a problem:

Suddenly the TV stopped responding to some keys like MENU and PICTURE.
The remote control is good as I tested it in another TV and the problem also
happens when using the keys on the TV panel.

What can be causing this problem?
Bad EEPROM (I don't think so, else things would be much more screwed up)?

Thanks for any help.

Check for stuck tac switches on the keys, or gunk that may have dripped
on the circuit board. Do all the switches feel the same?

Another thing that can be done is to try and reset the SYSCON. Unplug the set
for the night and plug it back in the next morning and see what happens after
that. - Reinhart

Defective key switches, loose connection from the keypad, or a defect in the
processing.

Yes. It was suddenly, and since I am the only user of this TV I am 100% sure
nobody tried to clean it.

(And even if the remote control was bad, it is one of those true "no user
serviceable": there is no way to open it.)

I've done this and this seems to have solved the problem for now.
