TV Interference

I have a Toshiba TV hooked up to a digital cable box. The TV is in an
entertainment system where it lies within 12" of a Nakamichi AV-8
receiver/tuner. When I watch TV with the stereo on, I get significant
interference. The TV is connected to the cable box via coax. When I watch a
DVD with the stereo on, I get no interference. The DVD player is hooked to
the TV via component video cable. When I run an S-Video cable from the cable
box I also get no interference with the stereo on. I would just use the
S-video but, I cuts out the RCA jacks which have my kids playstaion2
attached. I am pretty sure the coax cable is good. Could that be the problem
though?

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

If you could respond here in the newsgroup I would appreciate it.

Is this happening only when you're listening to FM or when any audio is
being played thru the receiver/tuner?

??? Model and chassis of Toshiba TV?? TVI indicates that you currently
experience Television Interference, I.E. interference in either the received
Television Audio or received Television Video, or a combination of both. Are
you indeed complaining of TVI???<
However, are you specifically complaining of Audio Distortion while
operating your Surround Sound Receiver while watching the Tele in TV
mode?? Such as having the receiver on an AM Station and hearing the
resonate noises for the Television's deflection and power supply
circuits??
Your post is so very informational that I can't refuse this response.

It happens when ever the reciever is turned on. BTW it is video
interference, not audio interference.
The picture becomes grainy with video static in vertical bands.

I hope this helps......thanks for your reply
