TV broadcast distorted sound

Around here several of the air received tv stations have distorted sound
It is much like an over driven amp input . trying to watch anything
with music is worthless .
This all started months ago .
I wonder why and if they even know .

If it is happening with more than one television and/or VCR (tuner) then
call your cable company and have them come up to your house so you can
demonstrate the problem to them.
If it is just happening with one television and the others are OK then you
know where you have to focus your attention...... check the audio settings
MTS, stereo, mono, etc...... and also check the CABLE settings such as
Standard, IRC, HRC if applicable.... you may have to call you cable company
for the proper cable setting.

I reapeat ...several of the AIR RECEIVED stations sound distorted . \

Now i will add ...on every tv in the house every day all day

No What i have are a small old Sony color tv set and a brand new Sharp
Aquos TFTtv set both just on a set of rabbit ears .
This all started a few months ago . I think its poor quality control at
some part of the broadcast end .. I dont know how to get hold of them .
Some nights its so bad you cant understand the words . The tv shows are
bad but the commercials are horribly distorted sound wise
