Triggering digital audio with RFID

Hi all,

I'm just playing around with a pet project idea and I need/want to
achieve the following;

Trigger a relevant digitally pre-recorded message according to the
different RFID tag that is detected within the ground. There would be
say 20 cm of concrete between the tag and the transmitter. oh and the
transmitter would pass over it at, say, 10 km/h. and yes, it would be
in my driveway :)

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Cheers,
NK

The pre-recorded message part is easy, just use an ISD voice recorder
chip:

Don't know about a simple RFID under those conditions, who comes into
their driveway at 10kmh anyway? :->

Are you looking for something that tells you how far away you are from
obstacles? If so, there are easier ways of doing this. Ultrasonic
distance measuring springs to mind.

We have a long driveway :) Do you know where I could get these chips in
Australia? and what kind of price range I should expect. My Googling
skills are not pulling their weight :(

Sounds more like a welcome home message :)

Last I checked a small range was available from Farnell (and probably
RS), and I even think DSE had one.
