Hello,
This might seem stupid question but I mostly use ADS and sometimes use
Cadence for RF/mm IC work. Is there an ideal transmission line model
in Cadence like there's in ADS? I'm not talking about using LMG, etc
because models generated by LMG are not accurate enough for millimeter
wave frequencies. ADS has ideal Tline models and I use them to get the
electrical length values I need. Then I use some EM program like IE3D,
Sonnet, etc to model my lines which can be microstrip, CPW, etc to get
as close a match as possible to the ideal line eletrical length and
characteristic impedance values. This usually works but I wanted to
know if I can do the same thing in Cadence. I tried to use tline
model. It gives you four ports so I grounded the two ports (bottom)
and then placed my values of Zc, freq., etc but that didn't work for
some reason! Also, are there stub (short circuit, open circuit) ideal
models in ADS? Thanks
