Yeah, righ.. Looks like their uncle didn't teach 'em anything about
components before he kicked the bucket. Too bad. Might have been a lot
better off when selling stuff on Ebay. :p

wow those are some odd looking transistors :) i could almost swear
those are metal oxide resistors but then again who knows :)

Long ago, when I was a youngster, maybe back in the early '60s, I
cracked open some of those odd looking resistors. What I found was a
wirewound core with a crimp-on metal sleeve on each end to make
contact. The big ones are either resistors, since they do measure
some resistance, or else inductors. Since they're wirewound, you
might as well say they're both. But it looks from the pic that the
smaller ones are just standard half watt carbon composition resistors.
I guess $5.50 is a fair price, but it will probably cost nearly as
much to ship them.

it was sarcasm :) the post says "transistors?" and those are pretty
obviously a variety of metal oxide resistors..

i didnt see any carbon film resistors.. mabye i should look again :)

Yeah, I saw your smiley emoticon.

I didn't know they made metal oxide resistors back in the '50s or
'60s. Or at least I can't remember ever seeing them in equipment.

The last time I checked, playing awith anyone's skull would get you
thrown in jail for a very long time. ;-)
