Hi.

Concerning news:3F100D5A.F1A6F191@worldnet.att.net.

Would TIP33C and TIP33C replace 2SD669 and 2SB649 transistors ok?

Depends on the application, but the originals are much faster and more
sensitive than the tip33c's. Not to mention that the 2sb is PNP, while
the rest are NPN and the pinouts may not match. Do you want to pay a
few extra bucks or have a radio that sounds like crap?

The TIP34C should also be PNP.

They are _not_ pin compatible. I know that.

Heh. Guess.

Does anyone know where to find similars to the 2SD669 & 2SB649 ... I
have googled, but can't seem to find anything. :(

Henrik,
I'm guessing that you are talking about the focus coil drive
transistors that are a common problem in these CD players. (I also guess
that you meant a TIP-33C and a TIP-34C) I'd think that you will have
problems physically fitting the TIP transistors, as the lead spacing
will be wrong, and I'm not sure about the pin out. The actual spec of
these transistors is not that critical, but I would try for a beta of
100 or more.

P.S. If you repost, please include the specific transistor locations
that you are trying to replace.
