Hi

I am doing post layout simulations with spectre (cmosp18) and I want to
get the transistor dc operating points. However, in the extracted view I
cannot choose my desired transistor and ask for the operating points. I
mean despite the schematic simulations where you can choose any instant by
clicking on that and ask for the operating points, you cannot choose
transistors in the extracted view by clicking on them. Actually you can
choose all other extracted elements else than transistors. Any help?

Thanks

There is no functional difference between an extracted view and a
schematic. Having said that, there are some differences in appearance
that may be making it difficult for you to select a specific instance.

Schematic symbols are usually drawn at 160 DBU per UU, and layouts are
mostly at 1000 DBU Per UU, so the symbols appear rather small. If the
symbol is a PCell with support for drawing the recognition region, and
the extraction rule deck includes a saveRecognition rule, then you
should see the transistor area at it's drawn size and be able to click
on that.
