Transciever VFO worn out?

Hi all,

I'm a bit of a vintage radio nut and have just acquired a Kenwood TS530SP
rig from a fellow ham who's sadly no longer around. Anyway, he must have
been an avid band-scanner, as the VFO bearing has sustained significant
wear; there's quite a wobble present when it's spun across the band and
it can even be rocked from side to side slightly. I'm just wondering if
this is something that could be tightened up as part of normal servicing
or whether replacement is the only option?

thanks, cd.

A good many of them has/had screw in bushings that you can tighten at
the axial post.

Also, check in with the TS-520/TS-530 group on Yahoo. Lotsa good stuff
there.
