Toshiba TV

Hi,

I have a 1992 Toshiba TV model #1926A and it looks like there is no red
at all in the picture. I've tried the manual adjustments for color and
tint, no help there. I've checked the Toshiba website, and my TV is too old
to have any help there either...what is the problem, and is this a problem
that can be fixed easily?

Thanks for any help.

The tv set needs troubleshot and repaired by a qualified techncian. The
tech would start by verifying the picture tube red guns, the video output
driver stage, and work the way back to the color demux circuits using an
o'scope to trace where the signal was being lost.

Unless it was the picture tube, typical total repair cost when you take the
tv in to a reputable and qualified shop will be around $70.

At the very least you should take the tv in for a quality estimate so you
can make an intelligent decision as to whether you should fix it or not.
Even today, to find a tv set of similar quality and size as that one will
run over $160. So, if the total repair is less than 40% of that, well worth
fixing if the shop indicates the picture tube is still in good shape.
