Toshiba TP50F61 Is Pulling My Hair!

Guest
This unit has been here in shop much to long, I figure! Can't find
forrest for the
trees!
This Pro Jo came in with broken (neck off) blue CRT and failed FBT. Have
checked and replaced most all critical components. Now, when I fire it
up you
hear relay, HV comes up and then shuts down the HV immediately. Test at
FBT
is fine without splitter but still shuts HV down. Have eleminated Yoke
failure.
All standby voltages are present. Even when unit shuts down the power
lamp
will start to flash on and off continuously.
Can anyone head me off in the right direction before I give away the
farm on this?
Thanks In Advance,
Jim

Got the service manual?
Any of the protect circuits will cause immediate shutdown.
Including the convergence protect, over current, over voltage, 200 low
voltage protect. It is a simple matter of ruling out the different protect
circuit areas one at a time with the service manual.

Add to previous reply that you will need a multimeter that stores min/max
voltage readings; you connect to Reg IC and monitor pin voltages during
startup...

Check convergence power supply to the ouput ICs and the output ICs
themselves. Any circuit that draws large power is suspect, including AUDIO.
