Toshiba laptop EL panel BLITZED.....

Hello.....
My Toshiba Satellite 2250 laptop suddenly lost power in the EL panel
and I'm wondering how difficult it would be to fix it. I imagine the cxs
use SMD's and without a schematic or part supplier, this might be
a difficult task.
Has anyone dealt with this problem before? Is it best left alone?
I have experience with some SMD's, but don't know where to start in
this case without even a schematic, or idea where the EL power strip
is on the boards, or what the voltages should be to power it..............

Ideas? Help ??

I know the panel is underpowered since the image is VERY dim and it
doesn't change intensity in any stage of bootup.

Are you sure it is EL? Usually laptops are CCFL and it is as simple as
changing the tube.
