Hi,

Anyone would know what to fix on a Toshiba DVD model SD2710C which has no
audio (picture's fine). I know this is a common problem with this model.

Thanks in advance!

Look for shorted electrolytic capacitors on the -15 volt supply on the main circuit board. Very common problem.

I just fixed a Toshiba (I think) DVD player that had 3 100uf 16v
electrolytics near the RCA jacks that were bad, replaced those and it
worked.

I think the bad electros are numbered "928" and "929" I don't recall the exact
numbers but they are identical in size and voltage and they give this kind of
symptom.

Replace capacitors C927, C928, and C929. Even if some of these caps are good,
replace them anyways.

Original capacitor values are 100 microfarads with 16 volt tolerance. Buy
capacitors rated at 100 microfarads with at least 25 volts tolerance.

A local RadioShack store will have replacement capacitors that are suitable for
your needs: 100 microfarads with 35 volts tolerance. - Reinhart
