I have a Toshiba 24AF43 TV, it powers up fine althogh I do NOT hear
the relay clicking. The image is only good in the center, all around
is purple. When I opened the set I found "no voltage going to the
relay".
Any idea how I can trace this problem, Thanx

Sounds like a probable degauss circuit problem or your set has been
subjected to some type of physical shock damaging internal parts of the crt.
If unsure have the set checked over by a service facility. The degauss relay
normally will not show current unless it is activated, normally during the
first 15 sec of power on sequencing. Other components in that circuit,
including the therminstor, etc also influence it's action. May even have a
cracked pcb or poor sollder conections on the pcb.

Thanx, It's definitely a degauss problem, when I manually activate the
relay the set works fine. There was a blown diode across the relay but
replacing it didn't help. I can't seem to find a schematic being that
it's a fairly new set.

You should be able to troubleshoot this one without the diag. Look for 12 or
24 volts at the coil of the relay, if there check the transistor that drives
the relay. with the set on manually bias the B- E to see if it pulls the
collector low . If it does and the relay doesn't engage, replace the relay.
If the relay does engage follow the base circuit to see where the drive is
being lost. Usually not too diffilcult but can be tricky. I have not worked
on this model yet but I would suggest it is straight forward. Hope it helps
