Toroďdale transformer how much VA ?

I've bought a 250VA 220V=>24V transformer to power a 24V 250W lamp, however
the temperature increases when I power on. (after 30 min, it is about 40 or
even 50 °C )

What is the max temperature for a classical toroďdale transformer ?

Should I choose a 275 or 300VA to work in good conditions ?

My catalogue gives temperature *rises* of 55-65C (depending on brand) at

that VA.

ok, but rise, I suppose, it means ambient (about 25°C) + 55°C so about 80 °C
???)
