Hello!

I have a Topcon Monitor MX1528T (Manufacturing Date: Mar 1999).
I guess about 15".

I have been using it since May 1999 (4 Years 6 Months).

It has a green LED, to show the power ON status, right at
the power ON button, which stays ON, when the monitor is ON.

Suddenly yesterday, I was told by my nephew (just 5 yrs old)
when he was playing with MS Paint, the monitor just gone
blank. I don't think he did anything harsh to the monitor.

When I came to have a look, the green LED at the power ON button
is just blinking but dimly than normal and nothing shows on the
display.

Has someone got any clue to what is wrong?

Should I get a new monitor or try to find someone to repair it?

Your suggestion on this highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Considering the low cost of monitors today, and your monitor is 5 years old,
I would look at one of the newer ones. They have improved since then. If
you want to have it fixed, you should take it for an estimate. You may find
that the repair cost may be expensive if the fault is more than a low cost
component.

Very common failures in these monitors are components in the power supply,
and the scan circuits.
