Easy question....

What is the overall tolerance of capacitors in serial and parralel ?

for instance, if I have two 10% caps in serial what is the total
tolerance? is it still 10% or 20% or 5% or what..???
Is there a formula for this kind of stuff?
Thanks

i think you mean series.
in any case, if both are 10% then the
total string should be 10%.
you can look at it this way.
lets assume 2 100 Ohms are 10% and they are at
their upper limits, which would be 110 ohm each.
put them in series, you would have 220 Ohms
instead of 200 Ohms.
now what is 10% of 200 Ohms?
220 8)
so i guess the tolerance is still 10%
