Cut 2 pieces of coat hanger wire about 8 inches long. Bend them
into a "U" shape according to the vertical distance between the holes
on the front panel. Insert wire ends into each pair of holes until you
feel them hit the retaining clips (maybe a half inch or an inch).
Gently push the wires toward each other while pulling outward. It's
been a long time since I've done that so if that doesn't work then
push the wires apart while pulling.

Yep... it takes a tool that looks almost like a wire bent into a "U"
shape... you need 2 of these and place them into the 4 little holes at
each corner of the radio... Go to your local AutoZone, Pep Boys, etc...
and pick up a set... they are cheap...

You place the tools into the holes, release the mechanism, and the radio
slides right out...

Or stop by an audio installer and ask a tech to borrow theirs for a
few minutes. Also check and make sure there isn't a strap bolted to
the back if the unit is accessible from below.

The tools are thicker than a coat hanger. I've tried coat hangers in
a pinch and they invariably don't work very well.
