Thick Film Planar Cermet Resistors

Does anyone know of a source (OTHER THAN RS & FARNELL) of 5 watt thick film
cermet planar resistors. I use a lot of 50R (47R ones would do) as they are
the archilles heel in C-Audio Pulse 1100 amplifiers (which feature
significantly in my workshop). Unfortunately due to these amps having been
dumped by Harman after their takeover of BSS, my OEM supply has dried up.
cheers

** Too expensive ?

Had a falling out with them ???

** If they constantly fail - then use something BETTER !!!

I just prefer not to use them unless I have to.

Now there's some REALLY good advice - The resistors fail to protect the
IGBTs in the SMPSU when an output section fails in an amp (usually
because a newbie roadie at the local SR co loads them down to 2 ohms).
Putting in a beefier resistor would mean replacing IGBTs ($40 a pop)&
drivers, and probably blowing the tracks off the board (I know, i've
seen it when a dipstick tech did just this). Thanks heaps, Phil. cheers

** Then why didn't you simply say they were "sacrificial" components
instead of using the title "archilles heel" which infers they are a weak
spot in the design.

Suggest you have a look in the US eBay site www.ebay.com under electronic
components/resistors or whatever they call it.

There are heaps of people selling odd lots/ end of rolls there. Make sure
you go to the US site and not the Australian Site.
