Thermal resistance measurement

I need to mesure the delta temperature between a TO220 case sunk in a box
full of resin and the box's surface. What can I use and where can I get
them? I want something really cheap!

Thanks!

An Infra-red thermometer, or better yet, a thermal imager.

Right. Make sure you buy the kind that can see through solid potting
material.

Read the post again, dufus. He wants to look at the SURFACE of the
box. Check your attitude, dufus.

Funny, but I could have swore that the OP said

"I need to mesure the delta temperature between a TO220 case sunk in a
box full of resin and the box's surface."

I guess I just imagined that.

It's right there in plain view above this post, dufus. You measure
the temp of the transistor before potting, then pot, then measure the
surface temp of the potting box after a given soaking period.
Wow, that's hilarious... best joke on this NG in ages. Measure the
transistor temp before you pot it! Wonderful! I'll have to tell the
guys about this... they'll love it.
