Thermal fuse in a Coolpix camera

I have a Nikon Coolpix 990 camera that likely has a blown thermal fuse
and possibly damage to the limiting diode and power jack. I have a CD
version of the Nikon repair manual, but it does not give any real part
numbers for these components. I would like to take a shot at repairing
the camera, but have no idea where to obtain parts. Anyone have any
suggestions? Thanks.

The parts are from Nikon only for your camera. Some of the discrete
components may be generic, but I am sure that Nikon had them all rebadged
for them. The uPC, and specialized logic components will be Nikon only.

They normally change the complete circuit board to service the camera. Most
of the components used are high density surface mount types, mounted on a
flexi circuit board, and are not easily changed. After venturing in to the
camera, and changing a board, there are some calibrations that will have to
be done to get the camera to perform right. These will employ the proper
calibration equipment and set-up for your camera, if required.

I think you will find that they will not sell any of the parts directly to
you. They will tell you to send them the camera.
