To which I always reply:There are 10 types of people in this world...

And those who don't.

Saw that last night on a PBS program. Think it was a sign on an office
door or wall.
The "10" threw me for a couple seconds even thouugh I've worked with
binary (and octal and hex) for most of the last forty years. If I'd
been in my work "world" at the time instead of slouched in front of the
tele I might have got it right away. Maybe.
If it is really binary though, shouldn't it be "01" ?

No. You must be 01 of those who don't.
As in "The zeroth shall be first and the first shall be second".There are 10 types of people in this world...

I confess I saw it on TeeVee. I don't remember which show it was, or
even
that it was PBS - if it was PBS, it must have been "Cyberchase". It
definitely was a sign on a wall. Should we start another infinite
thread
about which show it actually was? ;-)
But I do remember it made me laugh, and it's the first time I'd heard
it.
Isn't that from K&R?"Mark Jones" <abuse@127.0.0.1> wrote

I can't find it in my copy of the KJV.
