A few days ago, I got crazy and broke off one of the two plastic antenna
mounts on a Radio Shack "Amplified Indoor Antenna". (Reception was bad.) I
repaired it with modelling glue (for styrene plastic), but the basic problem
remains: weak plastic mounting stumps and stiff metal antennas. What can I
use to loosen their action a bit?
The spot causing the trouble is where the antenna pivot rotates inside the
metal mounting rod. I tried WD-40 with no success; the antennas move very
stiffly. With the cover off, you can see the plastic bending when try to
adjust the aerial, so the repair won't last without help. Which I'm asking
for...
