TFT Panel goes black after a second - inverter board failure

I have a Viewsonic 170M (some years old, out of warranty), that goes
black after a second. I can just barely see the text on the screen, why
I conclude that it is the circut for the backlighting that is part of the problem.

What would typically be failing on the inverter boad (where I guess
the fault is)?. A capacitor? (I've checked the picofuses sitting there,
and if one those were blown the screen wouldn't light up at all?)

This is usually the inverter, or the lamps. You should have it properly
checked if you are interested in keeping it. Sometimes they are not worth
to service. An estimate would be in good order.
