Testing PC motherboards

Could anyone give me insight into how to go about getting over a
hundred motherboards tested? Is there any quick and easy way of
testing or is that pretty impossible? I have over a hundred that I
need to sell but I really need to be able to determine the condition
of each one before putting them up for auction.

Any help would be apreciated

Hi,

You got a big problem! You have to set each one up in a way that ALL the
ports and I/O's can be checked. The manufactures have dedicated automated
diagnostics jigs. In your case you will need to have an operating system
that is installed on a hard disk, and run a total diags to see if the board
has any defects.

If any of the mother boards are different, you will have to install the
operating system for the particular one. Changes in the BIOS, buss design,
and firmware will make the board require different VXD, and indexing
configurations.

I would strongly suggest to sell them on an As-Is basis with an offer to
exchange the board, or return the money if it does not work. If these are
all from pre-working machines, chances are that they will be good.

Just curious, what type of mother boards are they???

Sell them AS-IS or throw them in the garbage. Even if you test them all and
75 % are working for you, that's no assurance that they all will be working
once they're anchored into a new case and powered up. Used motherboards are
a P.I.T.A. They don't do well with handling outside of the protective
environment of a computer case.
