telephone ringer timer

I know nothing about electronics and am looking for some help here.
I need a telephone to ring for 15-20 seconds every 2-3 minutes for ten
hours a day for an art installation. The ten hours a day part will be
handled manually.
I plan on using a Link-it (http://www.jechtech.com/linkit.pdf)
but need to use a relay/timer to trigger off-hook condition for ringing
time.
With a 600 OHM resistor and a relay/timer plugged into source jack,
Link-It manufacturer says I should be in business.
The 4690A -8 -3 -2(http://www.artisancontrols.com/pdf/4690.pdf) seems
like it might do it. I'm guesing.
Any body think that might work? Better way to do it?

Thx,
Pat

It looks good. Actually, you've approached your problem intelligently --
separated the project into functional blocks, then tackled the challenge of
finding vendors to supply parts which will handle each block.

I haven't dealt with jechtech or the Linkit, but the .pdf file looks good, and
their circuit looks like it will work as advertised. Artisan is a good,
reliable manufacturer of TDRs and other control circuits, and aren't the most
expensive outfit on the block, either. The 4690A -8 -3 -2 is the model you
want if you need to use 115VAC line voltage.

Good luck.
