Tek 2430 scope

I've aquired a Tek 2430 scope that has some issues. I was wondering if
there were problems that were inherent to this model? At times, the
scope powers up and goes through diag just fine and will work for
hours. Then there are other times that the scope will do nothing. It
powers up but you get no relay clicks and never get a screen image.
Then there are other times that the trace freezes on the screen and
the scope acts locked up. You can power the scope off and then back
but you will get the no screen issue that I mentioned above. I'm
thinking cold solder joint or component heating issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tracy

Perhaps power supply problems? Some PS electrolytics may be marginal in
ESR.(aging)

Sounds like a job for a Dick Smith ESR meter (music blaring...)
