I have an almost new TEAC 80cm CT-M806 SV television with no main
assembly board. It appears TEAC don't sell the main boards as a spare
part! What I am looking for is some one with a dead set who doesn't
need the main board or some one who knows where to source the board.
A worker would be ideal but a dead one would also be welcome.
I live in Sydney. Any suggestions are welcome
Regards Terry

I heard a story some time back about stuff being knocked off between
warehouses. Did that one come from a strange truck load? Well! It makes you
wonder.

Perhaps the set has a bad CRT (eg loose shadow mask). Someone may have
salvaged the rest.

Mike, you are right to wonder but this one is quite legit. My son
bought it with a sound system and dvd from a redundency package from
Fox studios. |About 3 weeks after, it went completely dead, no sign of
life. The TEAC tech came out, said the main board was faulty and
walked off down the driveway trailing the EHT cap in the dust!!!
After several weeks and conflicting stories, Teac said that the board
had been damaged [after being picked up for repair] and it could not
be replaced! That was just about at the end of the production run for
that model and I don't think they had the new one in. They offered a
80cm wide screen with stand which had just been released. My son was
happy with that as it was a better deal dollarwise even though he
missed the big screen effect of the old 4:3 screen. We couldn't
believe that they couldn't supply for themselves a replacement board
but no they couldn't, there were going to junk the original tv so I
suggested they not bother to pick it up and they were agreeable to
that as it saved them the trouble. Result, one new tv missing one
board. Perhaps I should have junked it but what a terrible waste.
