Teac CTV - horizontal collapse then fail

I'm hoping one or two of you TV guys may be able to point me in the right
direction with my failed TV.

It's a Teac CTW3450S (I will stick to big name Jap brands in future!).

Initially there was some horizontal pulling on the right hand side of the
image for a week or so. The set is now dead & I can hear the SMPS in hickup
mode trying to start.

Any ponters to the culprit part(s), dried out electros etc??

Any pointers gratefully received.

Thanks guys.

(And yes - I've worked on HV systems & am aware of the hazards!)

I would suggest a repair shop.

Sounds like something overload the power supply or power supply itself is
bad. I doubt someone can help you with exact fault given such a symptom. Too
many things can cause it.

I would think that something failed in horizontal area. HOT is likely to be
bad, but it may not be the root of the problem.

Thanks Rudolf, I swapped some electro's with no change - which I sort of
expected since as you say it seems like the psu is being o/loaded. Off to
the repairer tomorrow....
