Teac CTF6860S TV won't power off with remote.

I have a flat screen Teac CTF6860S in for repair. It has had a surge, after
we repaired the power supply we have found it won't power off with the
remote control, only the sound and other functions shut off, leaving the
picture running. Anyone have any idea's?

Yeah the power relay likely has it's contacts welded closed. It may use a
triac instead, in which case that's shorted.
