Surplus parts

In San Diego Kearny Mesa area, there is Gateway Electonics and Industrial
Liquidators.
The few times I've been in the area, IL has been worth the trip.

Most of these places though, have their "stuff" priced as heirlooms, and so
if you visit monthly, it gets tired looking at the same stuff all the time.

In Indianapolis we have "Prime Parts", which has had the same stuff on the
shelves for the 8+ years I've been in the area. In Dayton, we have
Mendelsons, which is <HUGE>, but still turns their stock rather
infrequently.

This weekend is the Dayton hamfest, a truly wonderful surplus mart. Friday,
I saw an ejection seat there, and a pair of gas turbines, and bought 23 10kV
0.05uF caps for $20, and a large butterfly variable cap for $5. Another $5
for a forward/reflected power sensor. Mostly small goodies this year. Last
year it was scope probes, I got eight new Tek probes, all matched, for about
$300.

Old-timers still call it "Earl's".

I didn't think about swap meets. There is an electronics/computer/HAM
swapmeet 1st and 3rd Saturday at the Santee Drive-In east of San Diego.

A bigger list of swap meets:

We are over in Indiana in August for the Portland engine show. We have a visit
scheduled to both Indianapolis and Dayton, could you let us have some addresses
and phone numbers for those two places off-list please ?

You never know what might turn up! :))

I think the list will survive the on-list post :)

I am seeing more stuff on Ebay and that's what the surplus market
needs......a megasite.

Take Mendlesons for example, (supposedly the largest)....they have an unreal
inventory yet there "catalog" has just a small fraction of it.

I remember Halted now......it's fantastic.
