Supplier Wanted: Panasonic Dig Cam Screen

Good evening everyone;

I have a funny feeling I may be clutching at straws with this one ...

I have a Panasonic DMC-LC20 camera. Someone (me) dropped it and the LCD
screen promptly stopped working. Fearing the worse, I opened him up and
removed the LCD, and could clearly see that it was cracked letting all the
gas out (or in I suppose - are they under vacuum?).

So - I'm looking for a supplier of one. It's stamped by Sanyo, assembled in
Japan, and has 1502Y and MS1 on the back of it. I'd take a pic of it,
but......

I'm not a tradie so it would have to be someone willing to play with a
Civilian. Out of interest, it is addressed by a 22 line header - I don't
know much about LCD screens - it is possible that a variety of manufactures
would make compatible ones?

Thanks in advance guys.

Rich.

I thought for a second you where making a joke, "let the gas out"?
Its a old saying we also use "It failed and let the smoke out":> But I
realised you where serious.
Anyway, LCD don't have gas, vacuum or liquid, when the glass (screen) breaks
the fine tracks are broken and stops working,
The next big problem you will have , is the cost, I would guess a lcd screen
would be $200 as a spare part??
Check with these guys (If your in Queensland) they may be able to get a
price

But I think unless you can track down another wrecked one , you may be
better off with a new Camera

Cheers,
Allan

Thanks Allan, I will do that - although you're quite right about costs. It
still works okay so I may just buy a big mem card for it and go with pot
luck.

The unit actually has a florescet back light as part of the assembly - this
is what I meant as 'let the gas out / in'.
