Hello everyone,

Can anybody explain me what's the meaning of "substrate stamping", I
saw there is a button in Assura to "turn substate stamping feature
off".

Thanks!

Please read the manual. It's covered in the Assura User Guide, and also the
Assura Command Reference.

Believe it or not, a lot of effort goes into documentation. It's a shame not to
use it...

Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your reply and actually I went through Assura document and I
guess I know that the meaning of this button. However, my question is
more basic: What's the meaning of "substrate stamping". my
understanding is that it's some special way to deal with substrate
resistance extraction, but I can not undersand it clearly.

Substrate stamping is used when a connection is made through the
substrate not with an explicit metal or poly. It is used mainly when
you have multiple grounds (analog ground, digital ground etc) and they
are all shorted through the substrate. If you don't do it, LVS thinks
that the necessary connection between the two is not there.
