strobe trigger?

Guest
I have a small strobe that I'd like to trigger remotely,
with a momentary contact switch.

I found this message in a search of Google Groups:
http://groups.google.com/groups?q=strobe+neon+voltage&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&selm=DspL7.211%247z3.205356%40news6-win.server.ntlworld.com&rnum=4

and wondered if something similar would work for mine,
and if I understand correctly what to do.

here's a schematic of my strobe, part 1, (very similar to the one
above),
and part 2 is what I understand he means; moving the neon,
removing the scr, and adding an opto-coupler.

Did I get that right?
If not, what then? or is there a better way?

TIA,
Frank

Pretty much, yeah. :)

Go ahead and slap it together, test it, and report back. :)

Cheers!
